The following is the text of a response to an invitation I sent to someone inviting me to a network marketing event. The 'veiled' invitation was sent to me by someone on Linkedin which seems to now be attracting a certain number of low life with expectations that, by virtue of its large membership base and that there will be a fair percentage of desperate, redundant executives willing to be lured into a scam promising wealth and happiness. Not me...
Dear...,
I find it very difficult to reconcile why someone so obviously well educated And presumably having some decent moral standards as yourself should be promoting something so shallow as network marketing as if it were a business opportunity! The types of people who normally sign up to this sort of endeavour tend, as I am sure you are aware, ignorant oiks lured by sales talk of earning massive dollar incomes. The success of people in 'your' line of business is down to their ability to suck in the stupid and most most vulnerable in society, generally people that in your neck of the woods would be generically described as 'trailer trash'.
Had you read my profile prior to sending your inappropriate invite, you would have gleaned that I am a business advisor of some standing that has run and managed a number of real businesses. As a business adviser, I would certainly do all I could to dissuade any client that approached me with a proposition such as you are suggesting from entering into any contract or commitment to something remotely akin to network marketing.
On the basis of this, I think you have probably inferred that I shall be declining your invitation on the basis that my time can be better spent cutting my toenails or watching grass grow!
Very best regards,
Simon Paul
